Your data
Delete your SpeakSwell account.
You can delete your SpeakSwell account (the app “SpeakSwell: AI Voice Dictation” by Cody Farquhar) and everything we hold about it at any time. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
In the app
- Open SpeakSwell and go to Settings → Account.
- Choose Delete account and read what will be removed.
- Type DELETE and confirm.
Your account is removed from our service right away and the app returns to its signed-out state.
If you no longer have the app
Email cody-apps-support@googlegroups.com with the subject Delete my SpeakSwell account, from the Google account email you signed in with. We delete the account and reply to confirm, normally within seven days and always within thirty. We may ask you to confirm from the same address before deleting.
What is deleted
- Your account record: the random account number, your Google account identifier, and your email address.
- Every sign-in session on every device, so those phones are signed out.
- Your usage history from earlier months.
- The link between your account and any Google Play or web subscription we hold.
What we keep, and why
To stop the free monthly allowance being reset by deleting and re-creating an account, we keep this month’s usage numbers (how many minutes of dictation and Notes you used) until the month ends, then they are removed automatically. They are identified only by a one-way hash of your Google account identifier; they contain no email address, recordings or text. If you sign in again before the month ends, you carry on with the same allowance.
What we never stored
SpeakSwell does not save your recordings, transcripts, formatted text, nearby field text, preferred spellings, shortcuts or history on its servers, so there is nothing of that kind to delete. Notes recordings and your words and history live only on your phone; Android removes them when you clear the app’s storage or uninstall it. Audio and text sent for transcription are processed by our speech provider under its own terms; see the privacy policy.
Your subscription
Deleting your account does not cancel a Google Play subscription or a subscription bought on the web. Cancel it first: choose Manage subscription on the Account screen. A Google Play subscription can also be cancelled in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → SpeakSwell; a web subscription opens Stripe’s billing page. If you already deleted your account and a web subscription is still charging you, sign in again and choose Manage subscription, or email us from the address you signed in with and we will cancel it. Google and Stripe handle payment and refund records; SpeakSwell never sees your card number.
Other records
Support emails you sent stay in our support inbox until you ask us to delete them. Google Play keeps its own purchase records under Google’s policies, and Stripe keeps payment records for web purchases under its own. We do not keep our own copy of a deleted account.
Saved text and device copies
Account deletion also removes your saved cloud library: dictations, meeting transcripts, summaries, words, shortcuts and portable writing settings. Audio and local copies on your devices are separate. Remove those in the app or browser as well if you want them erased.
